THE ORGANIC KITCHEN GARDEN

Our kitchen garden is organic. This means that we don’t use chemicals or poisons. It is pesticide-free.

We use alternative methods to solve problems and to control pests.

To fight pests and diseases we use natural remedies, for example crop rotation and nettle juice.

Our visitors learn to respect nature and that growing vegetables without using chemicals is possible.

This is the food for our vegetables: COMPOST.

It is a substance made with organic waste.

The organic waste rots as micro-organisms, worms and other insects eat it.

Then it turns into a rich nutrient for the plants. The compost is ready!!!    

This is our scarecrow and his name is “STICK”.

His job is to scare the birds. The problem is that he only speaks English.

We think that Italian birds don't understand English because they are not scared at all.

It was made by our Green English students.

In our kitchen garden we grow lots of  vegetables like zucchini, basil, tomatoes, etc ....
