The Orchard


2° ciclo scuola elementare and scuola media

Each student should bring: pencil, rubber, scissors, glue, felt tip pens.


Our orchard unit emphasises statistical survey while building vocabulary for fruits, and trees in general.  The morning’s discussion centres on the tree cycle and its importance in our environment.  Then, students pick a tree in the orchard to survey its vital statistics.  We then return to the classroom to ‘construct’ their chosen tree with poster board, construction paper and recycled materials.


Students are welcomed with a general introduction on the tree cycle.

We then go on a tour of the grounds of Casa Archilei looking for all the fruit trees.
