The Magic Garden

Each student should bring: pencil, rubber, scissors, glue, felt tip pens and an empty plastic bottle.

The Magic Garden unit is geared specifically to pre-schoolers, 1st and 2nd year of Primary School.  At the beginning of the session, the children are given a worksheet with illustrations of insects, bugs and animals.  While taking a tour of the grounds they are asked to look for them. We then stop for an interactive story, which includes many of the animals from our tour, thus reinforcing the vocabulary on the worksheet.  The creative activity includes making an animal from a plastic bottle and construction paper.

In the magic setting of Casa Archilei's garden the children are invited to participate in the narration of a story by using gestures and voice.

Flashcards and body language allow Maggie to foster comprehension.
